Grumpy red fairy
For this project, I was given a task of creating a character based on descriptions that features a message followed by information describing the character's personality.
The character I chose is a Grumpy Red Fairy. The message behind her is "Be your true self" followed by the description about her. Using this information, I would use it in designing her and imagining what she would look like.
Among the texts that describes about her include:
“Tired of being judged by people busy sticking their noses, declaring she doesn’t look happy enough or saying she should look and act and dress another way.”
“She is very cross…”
“…She is very quirky and punky and that she never smiles unless she truly wishes to.”
“But she is never disruptive or unkind or cruel: she just knows that it’s time to be real and not fall into the trap of faking a smile.”
“She would rather frown till she giggles.”
Initially, there were three characters, including the fairy to choose for this project. I eventually narrowed down to the grumpy red fairy as I liked the description of her personality. At the beginning, I couldn’t think on how or what she would look like but after sketching a few ideas, I eventually settled for a human design, with red long hair and eyes, large wings, an unusual dress with a rebellious type of design and her grumpy body language.
